One of the perks of being a Levittown resident is access to the community's pools. Although I have enjoyed the pools for the past 21 years, the plethora of rules and regulations can at times be wearisome.

One rule in particular has always "burned" me up: no footwear of any kind is to be worn in the pool area. I especially resent this rule because guess what - cement gets hot in the sun - ouch!

Lately, I've noticed that all of the lifeguards are wearing sandals. My question is, why are they exempted from complying with this hateful regulation?
