They say it takes a village to raise a child. I agree. Today in Island Trees, our "village" is mourning the loss of a child. Stephen Bosco, class of 1999, was killed by an alleged drunk driver, on his way home. So many people in our community are so saddened, so shocked. Stephen will be forever remembered by that great smile that was forever present on his face. He marched to his own drummer; he was everybody's friend. No one will ever have the answers, but this I know for sure...
There is one less smile in the world today,
and one brighter star in heaven tonight.
As a mom and dad are left to grieve,
a sister asks "Why did he have to leave?"
If only that person had stopped to think,
before he decided to drive and drink.
There is one less smile in the world today,
and one brighter star in heaven tonight.
Our village will always remember Stephen
because he was loving and because he cared.
He will always be with us,
though we can't see him there.
Indeed, there is one less smile in the world today,
and one brighter star in heaven tonight.
For Stephen, deeply loved, sadly missed and
forever in our hearts.
