Guardino: Town Has Highest Credit Rating on Long Island
Boasting conservative fiscal policies among his administration, Town of Hempstead Supervisor Rich Guardino stated this week that his municipality still has the highest Wall Street credit rating of any town or county on Long Island. As a result, the Town's strong management oversight led to historic low borrowing costs, according to Guardino.

Residents' favorite summer activities, including relaxation, a leisurely picnic in a shaded park and children playing games will come to life on Saturday, July 21 from noon to 6 p.m. when the Levittown Community Council holds the Fourth Annual Lazy Days of Summer Picnic at the Jerusalem Avenue Pool and Community Park at the East Village Green in Levittown.

Island Trees Summer Sports Camps a Success
During the week of June 30, the Island Trees School District offered a softball sport camp. Under the direction of Varsity Softball Coaches Ed Price and Laurie Logan, girls in grades four through eight were offered 15 hours of instruction in all the fundamentals of softball. The girls worked on throwing, catching, stealing, bunting, pitching and fielding. Assisting Price and Logan were Jackie Habermehl and Chrissy DeMott who were catcher and pitcher for the IT Softball Team that recently captured the Nassau County championship.
