Many people do not understand what the Levittown Kiwanis Club is all about. It is a community service organization.
One dictionary defines community as: the people living in the same district, city, etc. under the same laws. It also defines service as: helpful, beneficial or friendly action or conduct; act of giving assistance or advantage to another.
If you put them together it means the Levittown Kiwanis Club gives beneficial assistance to people living in Levittown. Could the Levittown Kiwanis Club collect just $1.00 from 1/2 of our residents living in Levittown? If we could, can you imagine how many people in our community that we could help:
1.young children
2.needy residents
3.elderly, and many more
So you say, we would collect more than we could ever use? If we had thousands of dollars left, wouldn't it be wonderful to give $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school students. You do realize we have four high schools in Levittown.
Division Avenue High School
Levittown Vocational Center
MacArthur High School
Island Trees High School
