Jason Orsini of Levittown competed in this year's Empire State Game Trials and won the 1500-meter freestyle. At 21, he will be the only swimmer in the open division (18 and over) on the Long Island team racing in the one-mile swim in the Empire State Games.

Orsini, one of New York's top age group marathon runners, was hoping to compete for running, but couldn't because of an injury. In the future, he hopes to compete in the Ironman Triathlon and one day run the Olympic Marathon.
