The Division Blue Dragons have just come off their bye week a rejuvenated team and defeated the Hewlett Bulldogs in their three-game series.
In game one, the Dragons won 4-1. PJ Antoniato was the winning pitcher going the distance, allowing only one earned run while striking out 10 batters.
Mike Hublitz and Antoniato had RBI singles to give the Dragons a 2-1 lead, when Steve Juliano hit a two-run single to ice the game. Jeff Tamarez had two hits and two runs scored.
In game two the Dragons won 13-0 behind the three-hit pitching of Josh Flinn. Flinn struck out 11 batters en route to his third shutout of the season.
Eric Fierro was two for three with three RBIs and two runs scored. Juliano added two RBIs with two runs scored; Jeff Tamarez had two hits and two runs scored; PJ Antoniato had two hits, an RBI, and four runs scored; and Ray Montoro added a run single.
In game three Division beat Hewlett for the third time by a score of 7-2 as Dan Weingart scattered six hits, walking only two batters. This made Weingart 5-1 for the season. The Dragons turned double plays in the first, second, and third innings while just narrowly missing one in the fifth inning. Big hitters for Division were Eric Fierro and Steve Juliano who both banged out three hits with two RBIs. Other big hitters were Antoniato and Tamarez who each had two hits.
