Levittown Budget Goes Down by 43 Votes
The Levittown Board of Education has decided to put the same budget up for a revote on June 6, after this year's $119,586,057 budget was one of four in Nassau County to fail on Tuesday. This will be the district's last chance to submit a budget, if it does not pass on the second try the district will have to operate under a contingency or "capped" budget.
Gina Interdonato Elected, Paul Granger Returned to Board of Education
In an uncontested election last Tuesday, Gina Interdonato, a resident of Levittown for approximately 15 years, was elected to the Levittown Board of Education and Paul Granger was returned for his second term as a trustee.
Island Trees Sports
Tom Lombardi led a 12 hit attack as the varsity Bulldogs defeated Bellmore JFK at Eisenhower Park 6-1. The non-league contest was played before a large crowd last Saturday night. Lombardi finished the night 3-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Greg Thomson also had three hits for the Bulldogs. Island Trees continued to get clutch hitting from shortstop Michael Thompson. Thompson came to bat with runners at second and third with two outs in the top of the second and tripled over the head of the right fielder, giving Island Trees a 2-0 lead.
Levittown PAL Tomahawks
The Levittown PAL Boys Tomahawk lacrosse program finished its fifth week of play this past weekend. The boys came out with three wins, a loss and one tie for a successful Mother's Day Sunday.
