This was a much better week for the Lady Bulldogs. After losing three in a row, the girls dug down deep to capture the winning feeling again.

First up this week was a tough game at Clarke High School in Westbury. Chrissy DeMott was once again up for the challenge, allowing only 6 hits while striking out seven and walking one. The offense began in the first inning when leadoff batter Becky Santoriello got hit by the pitch and then proceeded to steal second and was then brought in by Carol Lehmann's RBI single. Again in the fifth inning lead off batter Sandy Baglivo got on with a single to right field, pinch runner Tasha Weinmann was sacrificed over to second on a great bunt by freshman Kate Schamberger and was brought in by a single by Becky Santoriello. Final score Bulldogs 3 Clarke 0.

Next up were the Vikings of North Shore High School. Another great game, this time error free. Superb defense by leftfielder Erin Dodge got the game off to a great start, making the first two plays of the game. Chrissy DeMott had a perfect game going into the fifth inning but then surrendering singles finishing up with a two hitter, while striking out 12 and walking none. Senior's Jaclyn Habermehl and Carol Lehmann each had two hits, Lehman scoring two runs and Habermehl getting an RBI and also scoring one run. Final score Island Trees 4 North Shore 0.

Finally this week, Mineola High School paid the Lady Dawgs a visit. On a beautiful sunny day the Bulldogs played great. Once against the defense played amazing. In the top of the second inning in a scoreless game the leadoff batter for Mineola drilled a ball down the leftfield line, looking very much like a homerun, leftfielder Erin Dodge chased it down, threw it perfectly to the cutoff Liz Dinolfo who then fired it home to Jaclyn Habermehl for the out. A perfect play. Rightfielder Rebecca Santoriello has received her fourth assist on singles that have been hit to right, her lightning speed and strong throws has the opposition amazed... Sophomore Jamie Zetterberg joined the hit parent going two for three with an RBI and a run scored. Final score Island Trees 7 Mineola 0. Chrissy DeMott's third straight shutout and fifth for the season. She compiled an amazing ERA of 0.609, with 91 strikeouts.

Another tough week ahead, for Island Trees Division, Valley Stream So., and MacArthur.
