Residents of the Levittown community had a very supportive response at the Town of Hempstead Public Hearing to consider the rezoning of a Levittown property from a "Business District" to "Golden Age Residence District," which was held this past Tuesday. While a few residents had some safety concerns, the overall reaction of the more than one dozen speakers was positive, with many saying that this was exactly what the community needed. FULL STORY

Prior to Spring Recess, the Island Trees Lady Bulldogs had a 4-0 record, of which they were quite proud. Just before the recess began, the girls faced a very tough Glen Cove team, where they had their first taste of defeat. Sloppy defense and bad base-running cost them the game. Chrissy DeMott pitched well, striking out eight and only giving up five hits. She also went two for four and a walk at the plate. In the first game of the Garden City series, the Dragons won 7-1. P.J. Antoniato got the win, striking out 10 batters in five innings.
