Town Appoints New Receiver of Taxes
The position of receiver of taxes for the Town of Hempstead, which has been left vacant since Angie Cullin, who formerly held the position, became a councilwoman in the beginning of January, was filled at Tuesday's Town of Hempstead Board meeting when Supervisor Richard Guardino announced the appointment of Donald X. Clavin, Jr. to that job.

"Stop World Hunger" Tennis
Stop World Hunger, Inc. has announced its calendar of tennis events for the year 2001. Since the summer of 1981, Stop World Hunger has been helping to provide recreational opportunities for the tennis community of Long Island. During this period of time, more than $60,000 has been raised to help Catholic Relief Services in its efforts to feed God's hungry children regardless of race, religion, and/or nationality. These are the victims of natural and man-made disasters, such as, famine, drought, earthquakes, poverty, and war.
