The Town of Hempstead's Helpline has been servicing our residents for almost four years now, providing answers to governmental questions and helping to solve problems on an individual basis. The main objective of our Helpline is to provide constituents with a needed resolution to each given problem.

There is really a wide range of reasons for people to call the Helpline. You may want to voice your concerns about specific community events, or you may need help with a municipal problem. The good thing about the Helpline is that your direct call gets you through to a real person who is trained to help you in the best manner possible. Even if your problem is not town related, our staff can point you in the right direction. Basically, each individual problem is handled and rectified, if, in fact there is a reasonable solution.

No problem is too big or too small. You are encouraged to call even if you think your problem may be insignificant. Our Helpline representatives are happy to assist you.

Now, you can even e-mail your request to our Helpline. By accessing the town's web site at www.townofhempstead.com, you can follow the links to send your message, which will be acknowledged immediately and answered in a timely fashion.

Town government is always looking for ways to better keep its lines of communication open with the constituency it serves. The Helpline is but one of the ways we accomplish this task.

Helpline representatives are available to speak to you from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday to Friday. After hours and on weekends, you may leave a telephone or e-mail message and someone will get back to you at the first available opportunity.

We have set up a special "direct" line to our friendly Helpline staff. You can reach them at 489-6000. When you need local government, it's there for you to call or e-mail. We look forward to hearing from you.
