Levittown Sports Spotlight
Sean O'Donnell was picked for the MacArthur Athletic Spotlight for this week. This exceptional senior will be a two-sport athlete by the time he completes his senior year in June. There are many athletes who compete on two or sometimes even three teams during their senior year, which is an accomplishment in itself, but there are very few who will compete with the intensity and the impact that O'Donnell competes with.
Island Trees Sports
The Island Trees Lady Dawgs Basketball team is having one of their best seasons yet. The girls' record is now 16-1 overall and 7-0 in league, keeping them in first place in their conference. In the past week, the girls have taken on and defeated Wheatley and East Rockaway. Lisa Macchia has broken the school's scoring record previously held by Marie Fusci, by scoring her 1,200th point in their game against Wheatley. Cathy Sbarra and Tara Berman have helped keep the team focused. Lisa Smith and Elena O'Brien have led the team with the most steals, while Brittany Faherty and Erin Carroll crash the boards to get as many rebounds as possible. Meghan Voss, Jen D'Albenzio and Ashley Tonno made key shots during the games. Come and support the Lady Bulldogs this February Break, as they begin playoffs and make their run for a championship.
