I recently had the opportunity to read the Reverend Maria Hughes' letter regarding some problems she had with her gas service last year. Legislator Dennis Dunne should indeed be congratulated in helping to fix the problem.
I should point out, however, that the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) is not in any way responsible for gas service. LIPA is Long Island's electric company only and not responsible for gas rates, charges or service.
KeySpan is Long Island's gas company and they have sole responsibility for gas repair service.
