The Girls' Varsity Basketball team is well on their way to another stellar season. The girls are now 5-1 and are the favorites to win their conference. With their rigorous pre-season over, the girls are well prepared for their upcoming league schedule. With the ball handling skills of Cathy Sbarra, Tara Berman and Jen D'Albenzio, the "twin towers" Lisa Macchia and Lisa Smith, along with the key defensive play of Ashley Tonno, Meghan Voss and Brittany Faherty and the rebounding skills of Erin Carroll and Elena O'Brien, the team has defeated many tough opponents such as Farmingdale, New Hyde Park and Baldwin. Coach Zamroz keeps working the girls and all of their practicing is paying off. The team is working well together and they have the necessary components of a great team.

The 8th grade volleyball team played a nice game against Hicksville. Although the Lady Bulldogs were unable to obtain the win, they gave their opponents a tough battle. Some of the highlights from the game was an excellent spike by Jen Greene, an amazing save by Kelly Murphy, a deadly spike by Donna Braun, and Gina Brewer's outstanding and very smart play when she faked out the potential blockers and "dinked" the ball directly over their heads. Rachel Davids, Amanda Rossi and Melissa Medina were an intimidating force at the net. Terrific hustle and heads up play by Jessica Ostrowski, Gina Dziuba, Megan Carlson, Tina Rivera, Kate Beale, and Jackie Augner helped keep the team in the game. Jamie Lent, Lauren O'Shea, Korin Jordan, Michelle McGurk, Kate Sopp and Lori Brennan all gave their best efforts to the game. The Lady Bulldogs have just three games remaining in their season and look to add more victories onto their final record.

Congratulations to the girls 7th grade volleyball team on their win over Plainview. The Bulldogs turned up the heat in games two, four and five with Melissa Donnelly and Jen Reno delivering game-winning serves. Phenomenal serving by the team as a whole was the key to the Bulldogs' first victory of the New Year. The girls face rival Mattlin at home next.
