In addition to giving businesses an opportunity to display promotional items, this event was also a good chance for businesses that are not members of the chamber of commerce to meet members and learn about the organization in a more relaxed atmosphere than the chamber's monthly meetings.
Dozens of people were in attendance for this fun evening, which also featured a buffet and free raffle. Many of the business leaders in attendance also donated gifts related to their company that were used as prizes in the raffle.
In addition to the networking portion of the evening, this event was also utilized as an opportunity for the Levittown Chamber of Commerce to present the Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps with a donation toward the purchase of an AED Unit that will help them in their efforts to help the community. The donation was gratefully accepted by Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Board Member Tara Ryan. Also on hand were two other members of the Ambulance Corps who demonstrated the AED Unit to show how this lifesaving tool works.
Chamber of Commerce President Dr. Jacklyn Nogan thanked everyone for attending, and encouraged them to get to know their fellow businesspeople in the community. Also present for the annual networking party was Levittown resident Gary Hudes who is president of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce.
The Levittown Chamber of Commerce is part of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, which has developed networking meetings and events such as this to promote local businesses. These meetings involve bringing members of each chamber together in an informal and comfortable setting to provide an opportunity for small businesses to meet, greet, and discuss business matters with others in the community.
