I am surprised by the recent politically motivated bashing of Gary Hudes. Anyone who has known Gary for the 20 years he has lived in Levittown, knows that whenever a friend or neighbor had a problem, Gary would do anything to help. Gary is not a "lifelong politician," in fact only a little over a year ago did he made the decision to seek election as a public servant at the Town of Hempstead. Why is it that when those who have done so much for so many, decide to do more, nasty political attacks begin and those motivated with self-interest try to beat down and degrade great people like Gary who can help better the lives of our families in Levittown.
I admire the selfless community work he has done here. I remember just a few years ago when he called my husband and a few friends and asked them to give up their Father's Day and join him in the construction of a front porch for a young boy confined to a wheel chair who otherwise would have had no way of enjoying the outdoors.
This is the real Gary Hudes, this is the Gary Hudes before his interest in politics, and this is still the same Gary Hudes who chooses to represent our community at the Town of Hempstead. Shame on those who unjustly criticize one of our own, for their own politically motivated purposes.
