As summer draws to a close football season is, once again, upon us. We have been practicing since Aug. 1 and Pee Wee Gray appears primed for a big time season. First off, we want to thank our sponsor, Ultimate Gym, located at 67 Bloomingdale Road in Hicksville. They are very excited about being our sponsor and promise to come out and cheer us on.

Now, onto football. Pee Wee Gray has a returning coaching staff of Head Coach George Athan and Assistant Coaches Tony Verbitsky, John Bartlett and Tony Ciaramitaro. We have also made two key additions to the coaching staff of Bob Nickel and Don Leonard.

The team is made up of returning veteran players George Athan, Brian Verbitsky, Daniel Bartlett, Anthony Ciaramitaro, Bryan Peterson (all in their fourth year of Red Devil football), Chris Nickel and Timmy Michels. We have also added experienced players such as Joey Leonard Michael Rakitzis, William Kaywood, Michael James and Damian Calderon. Rounding out the roster are first-year players Dakota Bransfield, Nicky Bristoll, Zack Trimboli and David Grecsek.

Opening Day Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9. We will be marching as a team and hope that all parents and relatives gather to watch and cheer the team on. Even more exciting than the Opening Day Parade is Opening Day. Our first game is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 10. It will be an away game against Syosset. So, let's make a great showing and come out with all our relatives and friends for this away game. Let's make sure to wear plenty of GRAY clothing to show support for our football team.
