South Shore Indians Capture FABLI Crown
The 10-year-old South Shore Indians completed their inaugural season by capturing the FABL championship in stunning fashion by upsetting the previously unbeaten Pirates 17-14 with an awesome display of power. The Indians struggled early in the season as they competed in the most competitive league on Long Island against some of the most talented 10-year-olds. The team seemed to finally gel as they closed out the season winning 12 of their last 15 games. The Federation Amateur Baseball League Tournament was conducted at two sites. They boys swept their way to the final by winning the Nassau County round robin format at Rath Park in Franklin Square, posting a perfect 5-0 record. In doing so, the Indians averaged 15 runs per game as the boys pounded the horsehide and circled the bases. During the regular season, the Indians lost to the Pirates (a travel team of players recruited from all over Long Island) five times. Nobody gave the boys much of a chance as the Pirates also swept their way to the final winning five games and the Suffolk County Division.

As summer draws to a close football season is, once again, upon us. We have been practicing since Aug. 1 and Pee Wee Gray appears primed for a big time season. First off, we want to thank our sponsor, Ultimate Gym, located at 67 Bloomingdale Road in Hicksville. They are very excited about being our sponsor and promise to come out and cheer us on.
