Division Avenue High School graduate Shawn Fagan, who recently signed with the Toronto Blue Jays, was promoted from the Blue Jays New York-Penn League team up to the Blue Jays South Atlantic League team in Hagerstown. Fagan was hitting a solid .293 with the Queenskings when he received the call in the middle of a game that he would be promoted to the Blue Jays' next level team.

Fagan responded quickly to his promotion by hammering a homerun in his first at bat for the Hagerstown Suns team. He has been with the Suns for a full week, and is hitting in the high 300's with eight hits in 21 at bat.

Fagan has continued to impress people with his work and baseball skills. His dedication is clear as he has a scheduled game for all but three days throughout the summer.

The Blue Jays organization has six minor league teams in the farm system. Their number one team is the Medicine Hat team in the Pioneer league, and the next is the Queenskings team in the NY-Penn League. Fagan has made tremendous strides in moving through the minor league system. It is not uncommon to have third and fourth year players at the level where he is now, and he's done it in one month.
