During the week of July 10, the Island Trees District offered two separate Basketball Sport Camps. Girls in grades 9-12, under the direction of Varsity Coach Melissa Zamroz, were provided the opportunity to enhance their basketball skills.

Boys in grades 4-8 were taught the basic fundamentals of passing, dribbling and shooting. Tom Baierlein, the men's Varsity coach, and Mike Harrington the J.V. coach, assisted by the Island Trees Varsity basketball players, instructed the boys for the week.

The 80 plus campers created the largest group of boys for a basketball camp in the history of Island Trees Sports Camps. Harrington stated, "With all these boys attending the camp, the future of Island Trees basketball looks great."
