  • NEWS: Snapple Brings Summer Fun to Levittown Pool

    When Snapple Beverages and the Starlight Children's Foundation were looking for a location on Long Island where they could bring their Twisted Cap Tricks Tour, they contacted the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce and the president of that organization, Gary Hudes, a Levittown resident, immediately thought of the Levittown Pools, resulting in the tour landing at the Jerusalem Avenue Pool last Wednesday and a Starlight Fun Center being donated to the Nassau County Medical Center.     During the week of July 10, the Island Trees District offered two separate Basketball Sport Camps. Girls in grades 9-12, under the direction of Varsity Coach Melissa Zamroz, were provided the opportunity to enhance their basketball skills. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: Al Lepis Day in Island Trees

    On June 17, the Island Trees Baseball League celebrated the fifth anniversary of Al Lepis Day, honoring the founder of the league. It was the usual fun filled day involving 32 teams of the Island Trees Baseball League. Al Lepis would have been very proud of the participation of so many young people having a great day. Continuation of this festival has been made possible by the untiring work of Nick Squigna, the current president of the league. Squigna has devoted many hours and energy from his busy schedule to continue what the founder, Mr. Lepis, had started.
