Division graduate Mike Pelcher has recently pitched his Briarcliffe Jr. College baseball team to the Jr. College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. Pelcher had a very strong season, going 5-1. This is Pelcher's second trip to the world series since the team also went last season.
Pelcher has proven himself to be a big game competitor throughout his career as he pitched the Division Blue Dragons to the county title in 1997, and helped the Dragons get to the county championship series in 1998 when he beat Wantagh, the eventual state champ, for their only loss of the season.
Based on Pelcher's four consecutive outstanding seasons, he has received a scholarship to the University of Delaware where he will team up with another Levittowner Rich McQuire of Mac Arthur who was recently named the pitcher of the year, after he pitched Delaware to the league title.
