The Levittown Chamber of Commerce's 6th Annual Festival will be held behind Tri County Flea Market from May 25-29.

The festival will feature live bands, including the Dedications Doo-Wop on Friday night at 8 p.m.; Flashback's Sounds of the '80s-'90s on Saturday at 8 p.m.; Six Guns Country Music on Sunday night at 8; and the Choral Pops show tunes on Monday afternoon at 3. Featured daily, throughout the day and night will be Razmataz's Magic and Illusion show. In addition Dynasty Martial Arts will be doing a demonstration on Saturday afternoon and local dance studios are also expected to perform at various times during the festival. Those who attend the festival will also be able to enjoy the petting zoo, craft fair, carnival rides, games and food.

Levittown Chamber of Commerce President Dr. Jacklyn Nogan noted that while there will be as many rides and the rides will be as large as last year, some of the rides will be different from previous festivals, in order to offer some variety for those who attend the annual event. There will be a pay one price wristband offered from opening until closing on Thursday, May 25 and Monday, May 29 for $17.99 (or $12.99 with coupon). On Friday afternoon, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. the cost of the pay one price wristband will be $10. Nogan explained that this offers Levittown students who have off that day the opportunity to enjoy the festival at a reasonable cost with less of a crowd because most of the other area schools are in session that day.

The proceeds from the festival go to the Levittown Chamber of Commerce, which then in turn helps different areas in the community. The chamber has a youth program which in addition to other things gives scholarships or grants to students in the community. For example, at the festival the chamber will be presenting checks to the two Division Avenue students who were selected as members of the United States People to People Sports Ambassadors program. The chamber also sponsors community events throughout the year such as the tree-lighting ceremony at GreenPoint Bank and the Car Show and Swap Meet. The chamber also helps with various beautification projects, such as the beautification and revitalization of Hempstead Turnpike which is expected to begin soon. In addition the chamber contributes to charitable organizations such as YOM, the Levittown Fire Department and the Levittown-Wantagh Ambulance Corps.

Several instances of the Levittown Chamber of Commerce's contributions to a community organization will occur at the festival at which time awards will be presented to one member of each of the veteran's organizations and the fire department will be raising funds at a booth provided free of charge by the chamber. At this booth the Fire Department will be selling various apple products, prepared by the culinary arts students from the Levittown Vocational Center.

The times for the festival are: Thursday, from 4-11 p.m.; Friday, 1 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, noon to midnight; Sunday, noon to midnight; and Monday, Memorial Day, from noon to 9 p.m. The festival's grand opening will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday and a Grucci Fireworks display will take place on Saturday night, with a raindate of Sunday.
