In the series finale that had been rained out three times, the Division Dragons defeated MacArthur 5-0.
The Dragons' pitcher, PJ Antoniato held MacArthur to only two hits, both by Generals second baseman Greg Sagistano. Antoniato walked no batters, while striking out five en route to his fifth win and second shutout of the year. Division first baseman Greg Jenkins made a beautiful play to thwart a potential MacArthur rally.
Division got on the board first in the second inning as Jeff Tamaraz doubled home John Ferretti. Tamaraz later scored himself on the tail end of a double steal. In the third inning Division scored two more as Dan Cronin singled and Antoniato doubled. Steve Juliano followed with a sacrifice fly to left to score Cronin and Eric Fierro doubled home Antoniato. Division scored its fifth and final run when John Ferretti doubled home Kevin Schneider who had led off the inning with a walk.
On Saturday Division was supposed to play St. Mary's but they canceled on Friday night. This was the third time St. Mary's canceled this game, for unknown reasons.
Next week Division plays against the New Hyde Park Gladiators, who are coached by Division Avenue Alum Doug Robins. The Dragons are home on Tuesday and Friday at 4:45 p.m. and are at New Hyde Park on Wednesday at the same time.
