Plans to Lease Space to South Shore Christian School Met With Resistance
The Levittown Community Church on Periwinkle Road recently sent a letter out to congregation members informing them of the church's intention to lease space to the South Shore Christian School, a high school, which is losing its lease in Island Trees. Neighbors of the church heard about these plans, and voiced their objections at a church meeting on Tuesday.

Ten Year-Old Delivers Toys to Hospitalized Children
Robert Ingenito made this Good Friday a great Friday for some children who were stuck in the hospital for the Easter/Passover holidays this year by delivering to them toys and candy that he collected.

In the opening game of the MacArthur-Division Baseball series Division came out on top, 16-6 in a weather dampened day. PJ Antoniato was the winning pitcher with relief help from Steve Juliano.

Island Trees Sports
On Saturday, April 15, the Island Trees JV lacrosse team defeated Seaford 7-6 with .01 remaining in the game. Brian Bennetti opened up the scoring for the 'Dawgs on an assist from Paul Wigdzinski. Bennetti ended up with 2 goals, 1 assist and Paul Wigdzinski ended up with the same. Julio Barea added 3 goals and 2 assists as he dominated the opposing midfield. John Ambrogio scored the apparent winning goal with about :45 left in the fourth quarter, but Island Trees had too many men on the field. The Dawgs lost the next face-off, but Joe Swicicki made 1 of his 9 saves and helped the Bulldogs clear the ball to find Brian Bennetti wide open to score the game winner. The defense, including Pete Ruff, Zack Strauss, Kevin Mahoney and Pete Moran, played their best game as a whole so far this season.
