It was with great pleasure that the Levittown Tribune set about interviewing this year's Trailblazer to the New Millennium, Dr. Jacklyn Nogan. When we heard that Jackie had been chosen for this honor, that only 19 women from Nassau County are chosen for each year, we weren't surprised. She is one of those people who you see at nearly every event in Levittown. She is a true example for so many people in the community.

Although it was not surprising that Jackie Nogan was selected as the Nassau County Trailblazer because of her community involvement, the same could be said for many members of the Levittown community, both women and men. Levittown has a large, core group of people who are involved in nearly every organization and activity that takes place in the community. Many communities have people who are involved in one or two organizations and are somewhat recognizable, but in Levittown most of the people who are involved in one aspect of the community are involved in half a dozen other aspects of the community as well. Levittown is made up of people who truly care about the community and for that the residents should be grateful because these people truly make Levittown a better place.

With that, we at the Levittown Tribune would like to congratulate Jackie Nogan for her well-deserved recognition and also congratulate all the others in the community who spend so much of their time helping others in the Levittown community.
