In an effort to change the face of summer school, the Island Trees School District administration has proposed a change, making the summer program academic support rather than just being for students who failed a subject.

The Island Trees Varsity Lacrosse team overcame a 4-1 halftime deficit to win 5-4 against Great Neck North. Ryan Linzie, in a leaf of faith, scored the winning goal with three minutes remaining.

Blue Dragon Lacrosse
The Division Avenue boys lacrosse team evened their overall record at 2-2 Saturday with a 10-6 victory over North Shore High School. Kevin Mulholland lead the scoring with six goals. Jason Ramo scored three goals and assisted on two other scores. Jim Davis also scored for the Blue Dragons. Kevin D'Agostino had an assist to round out the scoring. Matt Lander came up big in goal with 16 saves, stopping some point blank shots in the fourth quarter. The defensive unit, anchored by Tim O'Toole and Thomas Kelly, shut down the North Shore offense. This week the team attempts to better its league record with games against Elmont on Wednesday, and home against West Hempstead on Friday. Go Blue Dragons!
