The JV Girls Basketball team ended their season with an exciting win over North Shore 40-32. After being totally thrashed in their previous encounter, the Lady Bulldogs were determined to seek revenge. A team effort was needed to defeat the taller North Shore ladies and that is exactly what happened. Elena O'Brien, Erin Carroll, Jamie Zetterberg and Erin Ludewig dominated the boards. Jen D'Albenzio, Chelsea Marciano and Danielle Cama contained the guards and used their speed to create breakaways. Rebecca Santoriello hit some crucial outside shots to keep their defense honest. Teresa Grassi, Najareet Barajas, Corinda Eginton and Dana Rinaldi contributed as the Lady Bulldogs defense was outstanding. High scorer was Elena O'Brien with 14 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots. Great job ladies!

The 7th grade Girls Basketball team played a sensational game against Hicksville. The girls played wonderful offense, but dominated the other team with their amazing defense. The girls had Hicksville shaking in their boots with their intimidating woman to woman defense. The Lady Bulldogs won their first game of the season with a final score of 48-37. Brittany Faherty led the team with 20 points, 10 steals and over 20 rebounds. Gina Brewer added six points and five rebounds. Jackie Augner added four points, five rebounds and a steal. Kate Beale had four points and two rebounds. Also adding a basket for the team was Colleen Fenton, Lori Brennan, Korin Jordan, Jamie Lent, Jessica Ostrowski and Grace Vinberg. Nicole Carrazana played exceptional defense against Hicksville shutting down one of their best players. Megan Carlson, Heather McCarthy, Gina Dziuba, Nathaly Estrada, Samantha Burger, Lauren O'Shea, Hillary Sciacca and Michelle McGurk all played outstanding defense. Thanks to Christian, Mike G., Mike L., Ryan, Rosie, Lauren and Brittany for all their help. Our next game is home against Mattlin. Congratulations ladies!
The 8th grade Lady Dawgs played their fourth thriller in five games, as once again the game was not determined until the buzzer. With eight seconds to go and the Dawgs trailing by two with the ball, the team huddled in a time out to discuss the last play. The girls executed their plan to perfection, but the ball just rolled off the rim as the final horn sounded. This was a real character building game for the girls as they trailed by as many as 10, but never quit. Alyssa Fleming got into foul trouble in the first minute and had to watch as the team was outscored 12-4 in the first quarter. Kaitlin Schamberger played brilliantly, scoring four and directing the team with perfection. Alyssa would come back and play great defense with four fouls and score four points. Leading scorer for the Dawgs was Lisa Provenzano who finished with six and a swollen eye. Jessica Galella had four, Michelle Llorente two, Lisa LoFaso four, Jackie Mullervy two and Danielle Baglivo with two points and five forced defensive turnovers. Strong defensive games by Shannon McAdam, Angela Barea, Kate Ludewig, Stephanie Farag, Rachael LoGatto, Gina Lippert, Mary Seremeta and Nikki Pena kept the Mattlin snipers in check most of the way. Great outing ladies!
The 8th grade Lady Dawgs played rival Packard and slept through the first half, trailing at halftime 8-6. The girls responded to the wake-up call in the fifth period and outscored their opponents 11-2 to cruise to a 25-19 victory. Alyssa Fleming, playing under the weather, erupted for five of her nine points in the period, as did Kaitlin Schamberger who raced to four of her six total points. Both girls created steals and confused Packard every trip down the floor. Jessica Galella added four, Angela Barea and Lisa Provenzano scored two each, while Danielle Baglivo and Gina Lippert added a foul shot each. Lisa LoFaso and Nikki Pena altered many of the oppositions shots and pulled down countless rebounds. Once again this team showed that there is no quit in them. Great job girls, your hard work is paying off.
