What a shame that our representative in the county legislature is so late in supporting reassessment. Mr. Dunne stated last week, "If the final analysis is good for my community and the county as a whole, and it will be, I'll definitely support the reassessment and right now it appears that way and that's why I'm supporting it." Why did it take so long for Mr. Dunne to support what is right for the people of Levittown? He should have stood up for the best interest of his constituents well before Mr. O'Shea made his announcement. Now that it is politically expedient to do so, he is supporting reassessment and suddenly believes it is the best thing for his community. Reassessment is best for the residents of Levittown. However, it is very disappointing that Mr. Dunne did not have the courage to stand up for Levittown's best interests before it was politically popular to do so.
