I would like to express my views concerning the recent MTA cut. Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta has cut millions in funding for the MTA. There are 100,000 people who ride the buses every day. Some because they do not have a car and others because they are unable to drive. Twenty-three buses will be eliminated and 18 will have reduced service on a weekday schedule.

I bought a house in Levittown 13 months ago. One main factor in my decision was that there was a bus route on the next street. I am unable to drive due to a disability. I have used the bus for 15 years. Now how am I supposed to get to work? First the county sells Nassau County Medical Center, now funding for the MTA is cut. I believe Mr. Gulotta is trying to make good on his junk bonds.
