I was very pleased to read that the Town of Hempstead has a $56 million surplus. It's unfortunate that the politicians in charge chose not to spend any of this money to do a better job cleaning the streets after the snow storms last week. (Jan. 25). My Levittown street was in very bad shape after the storm and remains this way as I write this letter. I did see some trucks around the day after the storms, but they were not on my street. I wonder who you have to know to have your streets cleared properly after major storms?
