Holding signs begging County Executive Thomas Gulotta, "Don't balance your budget on the backs of our families," demonstrators gathered on the steps of the Supreme Court Building last Thursday to protest the county executive's proposal to cut funding to human services by 50 percent.

YOM Expects to Feel Hit of County Cuts
Yours Ours Mine Community Center (YOM) in Levittown, a human service agency that has served over 1300 youths and their families this year alone, will be one of the many non-profit agencies that will be affected by Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta's directive to department heads to cut overall spending in discretionary contracts by 50 percent.

The 7th grade Boys' Basketball team won in convincing fashion against Packard by the score of 67-45. The Bulldogs were led by Vinny Ciaravino with 16 points, Christian Salvage and Peter Scalamandre with 12 points, Ryan Hollett with 10 points, Rob Lovaglio with six points, Tom Cipley and Russell Davis with four points each and Brian Beissel, Brian Spiess and Mike Topel with two points each. The Bulldogs have increased their record to 3-1 and will play their next game against Mattlin.
