The 7th grade Boys Basketball team won their second consecutive game against Wisdom Lane with a score of 53-41. The Bulldogs were led by team high scorers Ryan Hollett with 14 points and Christian Salvage with 12 points. Other key contributors were Vinny Ciaravino with seven points, Brian Beissel with six points, Rob Lovaglio and Sean Walsh with four points. Peter Scalamandre, Brian Spiess and Russell Davis all had two points. The team executed great team defense and excellent interior passing. The Bulldogs are looking to extend their winning streak against Wantagh next.

The 8th grade basketball team took on Howitt, and although they showed signs of brilliance, they came up short in the long run. High scorer for the Bulldogs was Kevin Fusci with 12. Anthony DiDomenico scored four and pulled down 10 boards. Rounding out the balanced scoring was T.J. Young with four, Michael Garger with two, Bryan Dirr with three, Kevin McGovern with one, Anthony Rinaldi with four, Michael Doscher with four, Tom Leonick with three, Bruce Davidson with five and Matt Sinisi with four.

The 8th grade basketball team continued their South Shore road swing with a date at Seaford. Once again the boys distributed the ball well as nine players scored. Leading the way was Bruce Davidson who pumped in 12 while pulling down four rebounds. T.J. Young was outstanding on the break, scoring nine, and Anthony Rinaldi shined at the point adding four. Anthony DiDomenico scored four and ripped down nine boards against Seaford's triple towers. Other scorers were Kevin Fusci with five, Brian Singh, Bryan Dirr, Kevin McGovern and Michael Doscher all with a bucket. Trailing by as many as 14 late in the game, the Dawgs used a pressure defense to pull within three before dropping a 50-42 decision. Again the Dawgs prevailed in the important fifth period of play.

The 7th grade girls volleyball team lost a close match to Mattlin, three games to two. After tying the match in the fourth game, the girls' comeback fell short with a 15-6 defeat in the fifth and final game. Kaitlyn Sopp led the way by serving for seven points throughout the match. Michelle McGurk and Jamie Lent also contributed by serving for six points each. Grace Vinberg served for five points with Kaitlyn Beale, Donna Braun and Lori Brennan serving for three points each. Excellent all around play was given by Grace Vinberg, Kelly Murphy, Jamie Lent, Gina Dziuba, Lori Brennan, Melissa Medina, Megan Carlson and Kaitlyn Sopp.

The 7th grade volleyball team got their first victory of the season against Howitt Middle School. The girls fought hard and dominated the entire match to win by an astounding margin of five games to zero. Jamie Lent was the star of the match for Island Trees by serving for 16 total points in games one and three. In game two, the Lady Dawgs made a furious comeback led by Kaitlyn Beale to win 16-14. After being down 10-1, the girls came together and clawed their way back to earn the victory. Beale led the way with five points followed by Lori Brennan, Kaitlyn Sopp and Grace Vinberg, all with three points each in the game. Other stars of the match included Nicole Carrazana, who served for 11 points, and Lori Brennan who served for nine points. Gina Dziuba and Rachel Davids served for six points apiece, Kaitlyn Beale for five and Vinberg, Sopp and Lauren O'Shea with four points apiece. Heather Rienti, Donna Braun, Kelly Murphy and Samantha Burger all chipped in by serving for two points apiece.
