As part of the Family Life/Youth Development Program YOM has Socialization Groups which are made up of elementary, middle and high school students. These groups meet once a week in the evening and are facilitated by social workers. This program is now offered year round.

The groups enable the participants to share their feelings, thoughts, and ideas in a safe environment. Participants in the elementary group engage in play therapy and role playing, giving them an opportunity to play out their feelings. Middle and high school students generally engage in open discussion on self-esteem, communication skills, listening, anger management, dating, and substance abuse issues. Periodically, guest speakers are invited to bring further information to pertinent issues. Parents are kept informed on their child's progress. Individual and family sessions are offered in conjunction with groups.
