The board of trustees of the East Meadow Library deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to our voters during the recent bond issue vote. There was no way we could have anticipated the fact that well over half the people who came to participate were not properly registered for a school district vote and had to go through a time-consuming on-the-spot registration process. Had this not been the case there would have been no problem in accommodating those who wished to vote.

The board would also like to express its thanks to the election board staff who for 13 solid hours worked to process the new registrations in addition to handling the regular votes.

Again, we sincerely regret any inconvenience to our community.
