The Nassau Suffolk Football League opened last weekend and Pee Wee White wasted no time in getting into the win column. On Sunday, Pee Wee White faced West Islip in its home opener at MacLaren Field.

Pee Wee White had the ball on offense first and wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard. Powering down the field with up the middle running by Dominique Alexander and the blocking of Brendan Gay and Dylan Muller, Pee Wee White scored first on an end run by Nick Ferrara. The extra point was missed but would be all the scoring Pee Wee White would need. From that point on it was a defensive battle by both teams.

Pee Wee White defense was up for the task. The defense was led by Anthony Wrightington, Andrew McKiel, Nicholas Thomas, Kevin McKenna, Thomas Kowalski, Kyle Perkins, David Williams, Nick Ferrara, Dominique Alexander, J.J. Castrianni, and Tyler Rosenkranz. West Islip threatened to score on a couple of occasions but each time they were stopped by White's tough defense. A touchdown saving tackle was made by Ferrara which was Islip's last time threatening to score.

With White's defense controlling the game, Levittown's coach, Al Alexander was able to substitute players in freely to give his starters some needed rest. Frank Borge, Sean Brophy, Ryan Butz, Mike Cook, Anthony Giamatteo, Patrick Higgins, Eddie Valazquez, and Ryan Bogdanowicz all came into the game and performed brilliantly in keeping Islip from scoring.

With a win under their belts Pee Wee White is looking forward to its next opponent to continue their winning ways.

A special congratulations to Dominique Alexander on his first interception of the year, which he nearly ran back for a touchdown.

On Sunday, Pee Wee Gold faced Lindenhurst Gold in the first game of the season. With great blocking by Michael Engler, Cameo Flores, Edwardo Richards, Cordell Tompkins, Nick DiGregorio, and James Di Martino, Pee Wee Gold scored its first touchdown when quarterback Anthony Villa handed off to Matthew McBride, who ran for a touchdown, bringing the score to14-6. A great run by Villa, set up Pee Wee Gold's second scoring opportunity. Thomas Schreiber ran for a touchdown, followed by James Lang scoring the extra point, making the score 14-13 at the end of the first half.

In the third quarter, Lindenhurst scored twice, bringing the score to 27-13.

Pee Wee Gold never gave up and was able to score again late in the fourth quarter, when McBride ran for his second touchdown and Kreppel scored the extra point, making the final score 27-20.
