This year's Division Avenue Baseball team had a great year on and off the field. They won the league title, the county, and the Long Island Championship before losing to Vernon-Verona-Schiller from the Utica area upstate. En route to amassing a 28-2 record, the Blue Dragons won the Nassau County Sportsmanship Award for the second time in three years. They were also selected by Optimum Online and Long Island Sports Online as the Nassau County High School Team of the Month for the month of May.

To add to the honors, the Dragons were also ranked nationally as the 27th team in the country by The Collegiate Baseball Paper.

The Division Nine winning all of these honors indicates that the team had some good players. This year the Dragons had nine players receive post season honors.

Senior Joe Laudisio made honorable mention All-League, junior centerfielder Kevin Schneider made honorable mention All-League, senior Joe Woods made All-League outfield, sophomore Steve Juliano made All-Conference and was selected as the Cody Award Winner which is symblolic of the Most Valuable Player in the County Championship Series, sophomore PJ Antoniato was selected All-Conference as a pitcher/shortstop, sophomore Eric Fierro was selected All-County catcher, junior Dan Cronin was selected All-County pitcher/first base, and senior Ryan Darcy was also selected All-County pitcher and league MVP.
