On Monday, June 7, the Island Trees High School Athletic Banquet was held at the Imperial Manor. Kristen Piertrantoni and James Sguigna were the recipients of the Ted Petersen Scholarship of $750 each. Richard Carroll was the recipient of the Rita Benson Scholarship of $200. Kristen Pietrantoni and James Sguigna were the recipients of the Parents for Athletes Scholarship of $1000 each. Shane Brunette and Kristen Pietrantoni received the Armed Services Award. Timothy Fitzpatrick was the recipient of the Mullen Brothers Hockey Scholarship of $200. Sal DiBenedetto, Manny Lopes, Mike Santonocito, Ronnie Olivero, Greg Salvage and Mike Cohen were the recipients of the Island Trees Baseball League Scholarship of $300 each. Varsity Basketball and Softball Coach Bob Young was chosen as the Doris Uhlig Coach of the Year by his peers. Kristen Pietrantoni and James DelMonaco were voted Outstanding Athletes of the Year by the Island Trees coaching staff. The following is a list of all other special awards given out that night:
