Community Council Cleans Up Little Red Schoolhouse
This past weekend the Levittown Community Council undertook the beautification of the outdoor grounds of the Little Red Schoolhouse in the Levittown School District. This effort on the part of the council comes at a time when the school district is considering reopening the two rooms that were added onto the building in the 1920s.

Ken Auer Returns to Levittown School Board
After a one year absence, Ken Auer who had previously served six years on the Levittown Board of Education, ran unopposed to reclaim a seat on the board.

Division Baseball News
Last Monday the Division Avenue High School Varsity Baseball team beat New Hyde Park by a score of 13-0. Ryan Darcy was the winning pitcher allowing only two hits, while striking out two of the three batters that he faced.

Island Trees Sports
The varsity baseball team defeated Jericho by a score of 13-12 in an exciting and exhausting 10-inning affair. Mike Santonocito's three run homer in the 10th won it for the Bulldogs. Manny Lopes went four for five with three RBIs, while Mike Cudia also homered. The highlight of the day was Ryan Pastore's titanic homerun, which many feel was the longest in Island Trees history. Ron Olivero pitched six solid innings before tiring in the seventh inning.
