This past week the Division Avenue Varsity Baseball team beat Calhoun in all three games that they played. These three victories gave them their 20th league championship in the last 21 years.

In game one the Dragons scored eight runs in the first inning and went on to win 8-2. Senior righthander Ryan Darcy was the winning pitcher, allowing only three hits while striking out eight batters.

Dan Cronin, Steve Juliano. PJ Antoniato, Kevin Saragossi, and Alex Muniz all had first inning RBIs. Steve Juliano had three hits, while Dan Cronin and Eric Fierro each had two hits.

In game two Division won by a score of 6-4. Dan Cronin was the winning pitcher, scattering seven hits while he struck out eight batters. Division had a 6-0 lead going into the sixth inning when some sloppy defensive play opened up the gates allowing Calhoun to score four runs.

Division offense was led by RBI hits by Eric Fierro, PJ Antoniato, Joe Laudisio, and Alex Muniz. Kevin Saragossi played a major role in two Division rallies with some superb bunting. Antoniato and Fierro paced the offense with two hits each.

In the third game of the series Division won by a score of 12-0 as pitcher PJ Antoniato hurled a beauty. Antoniato recorded a no-hitter for the Division staff. He also struck out nine batters. Steve Juliano played a superb shortstop in support of Antoniato.

Division's offense was led by Dan Cronin, Steve Juliano, and Eric Fierro who combined for seven hits, four RBIs, and six runs scored.

Division is home this coming Tuesday against New Hyde Park High School. The Dragons are away on Monday and Wednesday. All three games will start at 4:30 p.m. New Hyde Park's assistant coach is ex-Division coach and alum Doug Robins, Jr.
