The Girl's J.V. Softball Team won its game against Roslyn by a score of 10-6. Runs were scored by Elizabeth Dinolfo and Caity Donahue with two each and Lisa Smith, Kristina Ruff, Carol Lehmann, Kristen Schafer, Michelle McGowan and Cheryl Werling with one each. Christine Fielding, Sandy Baglivo and Dana Rinaldi played a great game. John Zarrelli pitched three masterful innings, limiting powerful Salk to three runs, one earned, in the eighth-grade game. Also pitching well were Rob Giovi and Herbert Reyes who struck out the side in the seventh inning. The Bulldogs put a big four spot on the board in the sixth inning with hits by Chauncey Garcia, Reyes and a huge two-out double by Zack Strauss. The seventh-grade Lady Dawgs Softball Team lost a tough one at Berner. Nikki Pena struck out five over three innings and Laura Zummo provided a solid inning of relief. Lisa Provenzano hit a home run for the second consecutive game to lead the offensive attack. Dominique Mello, Kristin Gilson and Crystal Squitieri also contributed with solid plays in the field. The Island Trees Middle School Lacrosse Team opened its season with a 4-4 tie against Hicksville. Mike Rossi scored two goals. Mike Garger and Paul Wigdzinski added a goal each. T.J. Young and Rob Bischoff each had an assist. Matt Fiorello had a great game in goal with seven saves. The next game for the Bulldogs is against Plainview. Good Luck Dogs!
