This past week Division's varsity baseball team defeated St. Mary's of Manhasset 6-1.
Ryan Darcy was the winning pitcher. Darcy scattered five hits while striking out 15 batters. This victory makes Darcy 3-0 on the season.
Division jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first as Dan Cronin singled, stole second, and scored on Joe Woods' single. Woods scored on a fielder's choice in the second inning, as Cronin hit a sacrifice fly, which was followed by a two-run homer by Woods. Cronin, Woods, and Joe Laudisio each had two hits for the Dragons.
This coming week the Blue Dragons face some very tough cross-league competition when they play Manhasset away on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. They follow that with tough games against two highly regarded teams, playing Seaford at Division on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Clarke away at 4:15 on Thursday.
