Congratulations to wrestlers Tom Murphy and Jimmy Lyons. These two wrestlers placed in last weekend's county tournament. Tom Murphy placed fourth while Jimmy Lyons placed second. Great job by all who participated.

Jodie Schoppmann came in first in the 1500 at 5:34 and first in the 3200 at 12:28. Elena O'Brien came in first in the 400 meter at 69.8. Kelly Huldie came in third in both the 100 and 200m. Also, good job by Tricia DelMonaco who placed in the 100 and 800m. The boys ran as follows: Joe Parker 5:40 in the 1600. Mike Frank 5:50 in the 1600 and Matt Hallas 6:02 in the 1600. Great job by Mike Frank in the 3200 with 12:56.

The JV Girls Softball team lost to Calhoun 16-7. The girls played a hard fought game, closing in the fourth inning, but losing in the end. The leaders in scoring were Kristin Mullervy with three and Caitlin Donahue, Kristina Ruff, Lisa Smith and Christine Fielding with one each. Great fielding by Carol Lehmann, Sandy Baglivo and Ryan Ann Ezzo. Elizabeth Dinolfo and Caity "Bambi" Donahue pitched a great game with Lisa Smith as catcher. Good game girls!

The Island Trees Varsity Lacrosse team won its first game against New Hyde Park 8-6. Richard "Stonewall" Cama preserved the game with three big saves and James "The Spider" Sguigna sealed the win with a goal with one minute remaining. The JV Lacrosse team beat New Hyde Park by a score of 5-3. Goals for I.T. were scored by Ryan Linzie (2) and Pete Condela, Josh Chacon and Julio Barea with one each. Joe Swicicki was "All World" in goal.
