On Nov. 16, 1998 Dr. Myron R. Cohen, a practicing physician on LI for 33 years, died at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC. He was 65. Dr. Cohen had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two months earlier.

Born Nov. 24, 1932 in the Bronx, Dr. Cohen attended the Bronx High School of Science graduating in 1950. He subsequently went on to graudate college at New York University, University Heights, earning his bachelor of arts degree in 1954. Dr. Cohen attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Phildadelphia, PA graduating in 1964. He completed a rotating internship at Metropolitan Hospital, Philadelphia in 1965.

Dr. Cohen had previously served as a member of the clinical faculty in the Department of Family Medicine, State University of NY, Health Science Center at Syracuse. More recently, he had been a member of the faculty at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine on LI. A Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Cohen was an attending physician at both Massapequa General and Winthrop-University Hospitals.

He is survived by his wife Susan Cohen and sons, Henry and Perry Cohen.

Michael C. Canavan, of Levittown, died on Nov. 23, 1998. Father of Alexandra. Son of John and Maryann Canavan. Brother of Shelagh Monihan and Kyle Canavan. Friend of Kimberly Christie. Brother-in-law of Richard Monihan. Uncle of Trey and Jack. Arrangements were made by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home Levittown Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard's RC Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.

Frank A. Policano, of Levittown, died on Dec. 1, 1998. Husband of Margaret. Father of Frank, Al and Tom. Father-in-law of Linda, Denise and Christina Policano, Janine Petrullo and Ann Marie Palmeri. Great-grandfather of Kelly Petrullo, Joseph Palmeri and Alexa Policano. Brother of Joseph and Michael Policano and Julia Falco. Arrangements were made by the C.S. Bartholomew & Son Funeral Home, Bellmore. Funeral Mass at Holy Family RC Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
