I am a candidate for the office of fire commissioner in the Levittown Fire District. I ask for your support and your vote.
I believe I have the qualifications for this important position in our community and in the fire service. I have a BS in business administration with emphasis on accounting and employee relations.
As I am retiring on Dec. 31 of this year, I will have full time availability for the many duties as commissioner.
I have been a member of the fire service also for over 40 years, and a member of Levittown Fire Department, Ladder Company Number 1 for almost 37 years, having served as company secretary, lieutenant and captain as well as numerous company and department committees.
However, I believe the most important qualification I bring to this office is experience, having previously served as fire commissioner for 15 years. During that time, we experienced an unprecedented expansion of the fire district plant; an apparatus replacement and acquisition program - the entire fleet; OSHA requirements compliance and many other vital programs. It was a successful effort to balance the fire protection needs of the community, the safety of our firefighters, and a minimal impact on our tax rate.
I sincerely believe I made substantial contributions in my prior service as fire commissioner and I come to you today to ask you to allow me to continue to serve you as fire commissioner for the Levittown Fire District and I pledge to you, one taxpayer to another, to continue to hold the fire district taxes to the lowest possible rate with no sacrifice in service.
Vote at fire headquarters on Dec. 8 between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Please bring the voting members of your family, too.
