Last Saturday, Division's Varsity Football Team won their first game against number two seeded Calhoun. The final score was 6-2.
Division's defense played a key role in the win. Led by linemen Tom Swicicki, Brendan Murphy, and Joe Maietta, the defense allowed only 106 yards of total offense, while Mike Moran added two sacks.
The Dragons took over on the Colt's 36 yard line after a botched snap on a first quarter punt attempt. Alex Muniz capped the scoring drive with a one yard touchdown. Kevin O'Hagan rushed for 144 yards on 21 carries.
The Division Avenue Quarterback Club reports that the Junior Varsity Team also won their opening game, 14-12. Congratulations to both teams on a great start.
On September 26, JV hosts MacArthur at 9:30 a.m. and Varsity will play against MacArthur at their Homecoming at 2 p.m. They hope the community will go out and support all the Levittown teams.
