The Island Trees School District offered three different sports camps during the week of July 13.
In the morning, boys in grades 4-8 were offered a camp in lacrosse. The Island Trees varsity coach, Bob Rao, assisted by the Island Trees Middle School Lacrosse coaches, John Rose and John Roth, provided instruction in the fundamentals of lacrosse.
The girls in grades 4-8 were offered a basketball sports camp. They were instructed by Island Trees' Women's Varsity Basketball Coach Missy Zamroz and former Island Trees basketball player Koren Pena, who currently plays college basketball. In the afternoon Zamroz and Pena conducted a basketball camp for girls in grades 9-12. The girls were instructed in everything from fundamentals to game situation play.
