  • NEWS: Man Accused of Killing Levittown Resident Convicted

    Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon announced the conviction on June 13, of John Zoccoli for the crimes of robbery and murder in connection with the abduction and murder of Levittown resident Kleber Cabezas, age 39. The verdict followed a one month long trial and three days of jury deliberations. According to Dillon, Zoccoli, a resident of Coral Spring, Florida, came to New York with his four co-defendants on Oct. 9, 1995. While en route to New York, the truck in which they were riding broke down in Jersey City, New Jersey. They abandoned the truck and obtained a ride to Long Island from the sister of one of the co-defendants. During the evening of Oct. 10, 1995, while they were riding around in a borrowed car, the five men saw a customized van operated by Kleber Cabezas. Lacking transportation for the return trip to Florida, the five men conspired to follow Cabezas and steal his van. FULL STORY
