The eighth-grade baseball team keeps rolling along with another impressive 9-4 victory over Merrick Avenue JHS. Chris Caltabiano pitched five strong innings for the win, while Michael Thomson and Greg Thompson each went an inning in relief. The offense was ever present as the Bulldogs pounded the Ram pitching for 14 hits. Thomson was 2-2, with an RBI as was Matt Ostrowski. Paul Liguori went 3-4, scoring twice while hitting a single, double and triple. Jude Brewer had a single and a walk and made the play of the day in the first inning with the infield drawn in as he took a beebee off his chest and fired home to gun out a Ram runner. Road runner Rich Catherall added two more stolen bases and a run scored. Dan Fairclough singled and scored and Chris Lorenzini added a double and two RBIs, while Jeremy Small and Mike Santor scored big runs early on. Timely pitching, hitting and defense has kept the Dawgs out in front of their opponents all season. Great team effort!
