Levittown Sculptor Memorializes DWI Victims
Michael Alfano, a 28-year-old resident of Levittown, created a statue memorializing those who have lost their lives to drunk driving. On Thursday, May 7, County Executive Thomas Gulotta unveiled this statue on the grounds of the Nassau County Medical Center, near the main entrance, where it will remain as a memorial to be seen by thousands of visitors every day.

Island Trees Sports
The Island Trees Varsity Baseball team had a successful week taking three games from Roosevelt. In the opener Anthony Pena pitched four perfect innings while striking out 11. Greg Salvage, Pena and Tom Rizzo had multi-hit games. Joe Iglio also added a two run homer. In the second game at Roosevelt, Manny Lopes tossed a three hitter with seven strikeouts. Manny also went four for four including three doubles and 2 RBIs. On Friday, Chris Stavros went two for two with three RBIs. Tom Rizzo and Greg Salvage both added two hits apiece. Shane Brunette picked up the win, tossing four innings of no-hit ball while striking out nine. The Bulldogs are now 5-3.
